Day1 Sunday 17th March   Another birthday for Sharon and she still looks as young as ever. That meant another trip to the west, this time, to Oban. It is many years since we had been there and we have great memories of the sadly now closed Lerags House. I still use the recipe Bella, the chef, gave me for her fabulous gnocchi. We were away sharp and headed down the South Loch Ness road, which was very quiet and looking pretty good. We never cease to comment how beautiful Loch Tarff every time we come past. Look at the blue sky. Not bad for March, let's hope it lasts. Ben Nevis was a bit shrouded in cloud, looking almost menacing. The blue sky was less in evidence to be honest. We had arranged to meet with Bruce and Irene for lunch at Ballachulish Hotel. Ballachulish comes from the Gaelic Baile a' chaolais - the town by the narrows - which certainly describes the place pretty accurately.
